THE ILEX GROUP ACQUIRES INTERNATIONAL INVESTMENT COMPANY
The ILEX Group announces the expansion of its marketing, government
relations and business development consulting firm through the
private acquisition of the International Investment Division of
CHI, an advanced technology research company. The acquisition
closed on December 19, 2003. The company will operate as ILEX
Investments International , a subsidiary of The ILEX Group, and
will relocate in January 2004 to the Group's new headquarters
in McLean, Virginia.
ILEX Investments International is a capital fund and consulting
firm with a focus on technology-enabled services in the IT, telecommunications,
agribusiness and Internet sectors. The company looks for well-defined
foreign market opportunities where there is competitive differentiation
through proprietary technological advancements. The capital fund/consulting
company concentrates on bringing foreign and domestic technological
capabilities to emerging international markets.
H. Hollister Cantus, CEO of The ILEX Group which he founded in
1985, will serve as Chairman and CEO of ILEX Investments International.
Phillip Platt has agreed to move with the company and has been
appointed President and Chief Operating Officer. He had formerly
held the position of Vice President for Sales at the acquired
firm. Mr. Cantus issued the following statement: "Phillip
Platt's wealth of experience in technology investments worldwide
provides a valuable addition to the capabilities of the Group
and enhances the company's abilities to assist developing technologies.
The apparent upturn in global economies is cause for our eager
entry into the private investment banking arena."
